Welcome!
Our mission is to monitor, protect, and preserve the environmental
integrity of the Trabuco District of the Cleveland National Forest and
the Santa Rosa Plateau. The LA Times Janet Wilson article "Big
proposals target a small forest" gives an excellent overview
of the pressures on the forest. "They include
- blasting a highway
through the mountains,
- draping a 500,000-volt power line along its
eastern flank,
- and generating power -- and profits -- by pumping water
up its slopes."
The current threats are:
-
The proposed power lines through the Cleveland Nation Forest (HR1230).

We are a California non-profit Corporation whose primary objectives with
the Trabuco District of the Cleveland National Forest, surrounding
private property and the Santa Rosa Plateau are:
- To encourage educational activities designed to advance the
knowledge and appreciation of the area.
- To assist the Forest with the management of habitats of sensitive,
threatened or endangered plants or animals.
- To support the Forest and other Community interests with special
projects that are preservative and enable the wilderness experience to
be perpetual for future generations.
