The mission of Friends of the Forest
(Trabuco District) and The Santa Rosa Plateau is to monitor, protect,
and preserve the environmental integrity of the Trabuco District of the
Cleveland National Forest and the Santa Rosa Plateau. The Friends
welcome the participation of groups and individuals who believe in the
importance of carefully managing and maintaining our remaining open
spaces. We welcome the participation and support of groups and
individuals who believe in the importance of carefully managing and
maintaining our remaining open spaces while preserving individual
property rights. We are a California non-profit Corporation whose
primary objectives with the Trabuco District of the Cleveland National
Forest, surrounding private property and the Santa Rosa Plateau are:
- To encourage educational activities designed to advance the
knowledge and appreciation of the area.
- To assist the Forest with the management of habitats of sensitive,
threatened or endangered plants or animals.
- To support the Forest and other Community interests with special
projects that are preservative and enable the wilderness experience to
be perpetual for future generations.
In 2000 we organized as CAUTION, "Citizens Against Unnecessary
Transmission lines In Our Neighborhoods".
- CAUTION is a committee under Friends of the Forest and the Santa
Rosa Plateau.
- CAUTION is an intervener in the SDG&E power line proposal in the
wine country.
- CAUTION and FOF&P will keep current on all activities that may
affect the Trabuco District of the Forest and surrounding private
properties.
Friends of the Forest (Trabuco District) and The Santa Rosa Plateau
is a State of California approved 501c3 non-profit organization.
