HR 1230: High Voltage Transmission Lines Through the Cleveland National Forest.

HR 1230 was introduced by Darrell Issa in 2003 and attached to the Energy Bill. It proposed "a high-voltage electricity transmission line right-of-way through the Trabuco Ranger District of the Cleveland National Forest". Rep. Issa withdrew the bill in the fall of 2005.

However, the Energy Bill was passed allowing the use of the Western United States National Forests and Public Lands for high-voltage transmission lines.

With this in mind, our objective is to preserve the Cleveland National Forest in a pristine and natural state and free of TRANSMISSION LINES and TOWERS. These transmission lines and towers would have a grave impact to the Cleveland National Forest and private property in the La Cresta, La Cresta Highlands, Tenaja, De Luz, Rainbow, Wildomar, Lake Elsinore, Lakeland Village, Horsethief Canyon and Camp Pendleton areas.
